You guys don't know jackshit about the actual situation and those articles you chose to include shows you are in your little bubble. You read some articles and believe that you have the understanding of the whole situation.
What's the actual situation in the US? Before those funding were in, parents were free to bring/buy kids whatever they felt like. There were actually businesses who competed for their business offering high quality food at affordable prices.
Kids from poor and/or less fortunate families had programs in place to make sure kids wouldn't go hungry and came from the same quality vendors. This either came from PAC, municipalities and/or vendors themselves.
Once the "funding" kicked in, only "selected vendors" were allowed to participate in the program and many districts prohibit parents to bring their own food for the sake of "equality" or "ensuring everyone getting the right nutrients".
What Trump did was nothing but eliminating those fundings and requirements and going back to what it used to be.
I have many F&F in the States and none of them liked these programs and their kids are being fed with shit. And the fact that they were prohibited to bring their own lunch made the whole matter worse. Many of them went as far as transferring their kids to private schools just so their kids wouldn't complain that they were hungry after coming home from school.
These are kids who were in their growing period for fuck sake. Would you be happy if they forced your kids into these programs and your kids aren't getting enough for their body.
Don't take my words for it. Go ask around for your F&F with kids in the States who had experienced with both before and after the program came into effect and get back to me.

Can you provide sources?
Not saying I don't believe you. I can see that totally being the case, but sources.
