They get twitchy if they hear the word work or thing you may be trying to work illegally down there, so if you're going for a vacation make sure you're not bringing anything that might make them think you'll be working.

I had a meeting at the office and was in business casual but took the rest of the afternoon off, went to YVR for a flight without changing into casual clothes, got pulled in to secondary and nearly missed my flight. They thought I was going for work despite me telling them I was there to visit my cousins.
