The temperature has toned down a bit since Carney talked to Trump, but generally the political mood still suggests people view this as a high stakes election. So I'd expect voter turnout to be high, and advance voting is just part of that picture.
Also, I think the general attitude among voters is a more welcoming shift towards advance voting. Instead of absolutely having to go and vote on that one single day, you have more flexibility to fit it into your schedule.
