I don't get why Vancouver can't do food courts properly? It's either shitty stuck-in-the-80s-chains food courts like we have at Pac Centre or Metrotown, or the aforementioned Asian food courts which, let's face it, intimidate non-Chinese speakers.
I was in Christchurch, NZ a couple years ago. A city 1/4 the size of Vancouver and even they managed to have a
"cool", funky, multicultural food hall right in the centre of the city.
