Here is the thing.
Canadas booze boycott clipped about 500M a year off US alcohol exports. That is 0.002 percent of GDP. Basically the same sliver of the economy Americans blow on dressing their dogs like pumpkins once a year.
Even if you gather up every boycott, throw in the tourism drop, and stir it with both hands, economists still call it maybe 0.3 percent of GDP around 90B. Yeah, it stings for the people in the blast zone, but it is not the apocalypse.
So, before we spray champagne over this victory, maybe we keep the cork in and admit the numbers are sobering enough on their own.
