US courts have previously recognized in their rulings that the burning of American flags is a symbol of free speech, and is thus protected by the First Amendment (of the US Constitution). But just 2 days ago, Trump has issued yet another EO to direct Pam Bondi (US AG) to prosecute people doing just that, and there has already been a guy getting arrested for flag burning.
At this point in the shxt show, I am basically expecting the POS SCOTUS to overturn the previous ruling on flag burning being a constitution right protected by the 1st amendment. The POS SCOTUS has already proven itself more than a few times that it will do this, and the Trump team has already demonstrated how they are effectively re-amending the Constitution thru a series of SCOTUS rulings. The procoess basically goes like this:
1. Trump issues an EO that clearly violates the Constitution, or otherwise exceeds the limits of his executive powers
2. Somebody sues the US gov at a lower court and wins
3. The Trump administration appeals the lower court ruling, and it goes all the way up to SCOTUS
4. Then the POS SCOTUS rules on some obscure BS technicality to overturn the lower court's decision, and basically grants the executive branch the power to do the thing that should have been a Constitutional violation
It is so fxxked up that I don't even know what more I can say to describe how wrong it is...
