Aww dude a cruise...no wonder. I just talked my parents out of a cruise to Iceland as I had a look and the itinerary skipped over almost entirely the best parts of the country. I told them I would drive them around myself when they go. The Golden Circle is overrated. Things get really good after you reach Vik.
I highly suggest you go back again without your parents if they are not interested in long drives but show them this first:
