A decade ago, it was the lavish splash or wealth or the perception of it, and the utter disregard of public etiquette that garnered a lot of hate. The parents who let their kids pee in the decorative plants in a mall, the dozens of supercars racing on the highway, the perception of students buying up all the properties in Vancouver and driving up prices.
Nowadays with Indians, it's similar in that it's public perception. Indian TFWs taking all the entry level jobs (that no one wants), utter disregard of rules on the road promoted by a lot of these people doing gig type work, and the rumoured 10 people in a 1 bedroom type of deal. Whether or not you believe those perceptions or not is up to you and some explanation on a forum isn't going to change your mind easily.
Like all people and cultures, there's going to be some really bright ones and some really stupid people, and everything in between. Being in tech I've worked with A LOT of Indian people, and trust me the range is massive. The stupid is truly stupid when they can't even figure out how Monopoly Deal works and can't play with card game I'd expect a 10 year old to understand, but that happens across all cultures.

It’ll blow over because they’ll just start hating another group of immigrants. Possibly Filipinos next. In Ireland they went after Indians and now they’re going after Filipino healthcare workers. It’s sad what we’ve become as a society.
