They cant let the market fall or risk a huge fiscal deficit. its the only "safe" source of investment for most canadians. Thats why people are dumping all their money into their homes hoping for a payout 5-10-or 20 years down the road. Or at least transfer that to their kids.
Can you imagine if you got a 1.5 million dollar mortgage and then clowny decides tomorrow to fix affordability by subsidizing homes. You'd fucking riot on the street!
