When i was a wee little hobz, i used to take shit apart, rebuild them into my own grand designs.... making mechs and stuff cuz i really wanted to play mechwarrior 2, but didnt have a PC capable of running such a thing.

To be fair, when I was a kid I built my lego kits once and put them on display immediately. Never messed with them afterwards lol. but then, I recognize that I'm sort of OCD and wasn't like most kids my age.
PS: my cunt of a sister destroyed my entire collection one day by knocking down the shelf on top of my desk where they were all being displayed. she knew how much it meant to me to keep them mint.
