The new Y is basically that. It had a lot of small issues here and there. By issues I meant not something broken, but it wasn't exactly all that user-friendly or the best experience. Tesla took a lot of notes on that and really improved upon on the new design.
Supposedly the new economic version Model Y is coming after Sep 30th, but depending on the price, some stuff might be too much of a tradeoff to forgo.
The new Y IMO is quite balanced as far as feature and price. Plus we now get the Made in Germany ones.
There's another option if you don't need the space and is planning to drive it to the ground. Before sep 30th, inventory Model 3 gets either $5000 off or free lifetime supercharging. Sure $5000 is a lot of supercharging. But a buddy of mine has that in his Tesla and he's almost always out to somewhere on the weekends.
