Just had this conversation at work with a Caucasian co worker. He was beat with a wooden spoon, we told him about feather dusters.
He was confused about it. "But they're so fluffy."
"You're holding it the wrong way around," we told him. I was in my teens before I knew what the english words were for the feather duster, how they were typically used, and which end other people held them.
