San Jose for sure, get an Airbnb.
San Lucas is boring and is the resort zone, San Jose is way better, tons of restaurants to walk around and check out every night, good cocktail spots, very walkable, cheaper too.
Rent a car too if you want to go explore, maybe check out La Paz too.
