Attraction to height could be a primal biological instinct thing. (Non-excessive) height probably means stronger dude with better genes back in the caveman days, so the chances of having stronger and more survivable offsprings, along with the capability of protecting the mother and the younglings.
(Little do the cave women know, caveman dudes just want to shoot their load and leave LOL~)
It's no different than how men are instinctively attracted to younger women because it means they are more fertile
