I don't know if I'd say that of Canadian cops or most non-US cops. I'm fairly pro-defund the police for the US and I just *hate* cops like Adam Palmer and I generally hate the police unions but I don't think most cops are bad in Canada (though some generally are bad).
That said, it only takes a very small percentage of a profession to be bad to make the whole profession disreputable especially those professions with a lot of power. A few cops abusing their power is far, far worse than a few teenagers spitting in your McDonald's burger.
