Ray Ferraro made a good point during the game against Columbus about Petey's hesitation in shooting the puck.
Ferraro said that hockey is played for the most part on instinct. You cannot overthink the game too much as a NHL player. Otherwise, a player doesn't play to their strengths.
Petey has a top calibre shot. I notice Petey's shot only when he is set up for a one timer slap shot during a power play. He is thinking too much of trying to make the perfect pass to set up a line mate for a scoring chance.
Shoot the puck, Petey! Shoot first just like Boeser!
It's no coincidence that the elite players like Mackinnon, Celebrini, and Bedard are at the top of the point leader and goal stats in the league now. Those players shoot the puck quite a bit.
