I'm sure there are many trades of prominent players that dont work end up working out for the team. You only see the results of the successful ones. Something something survivorship bias.
Canucks traded Luongo, Kesler, Burrows, Bieksa, then had Horvat, Boeser, Pettersson, and franchise d-man Quin Hughes leading the way. A promising young team, just like how the Sharks, Blackhawks, and Ducks, look right now.
