many years ago, i think someone on here recounted a story of parking their car right outside (or same block). regular homeless guy outside offered to "watch their car" for a fee. I think he would spit in your car handles otherwise. Anyhoo RS'er gave the guy like $5 or $10 while he went inside and buddy watched his car for him. probably safest car on the block

I think Hobz suggested this, but don't bother banging out postings and throwing around your resume right now, you'll just feel disenfranchised with the lack of responses.
People are all vacation right now, companies aren't really posting their jobs or hiring in December.
I assume you've also made sure to submit your application for EI. Try to fight the anxious urges and just know you can hit the ground running by second week of January.

EI will def help...if rules haven't changed i think you won't start until a month later. back when i was young and got laid off i took the opportunity to take a breather (play lots of WoW

) and re-evaluate what I wanted to do. i gauged the current market, applied to a few firms that interested me, but then also take a step back and look at what i wanted to do, what markets are stable, etc. hopefully you can afford to take it slow and give it quality over quantity.
it also sucks that several sectors are either laying people off and/or going through a hiring freeze. working out like others said will help relieve stress.
