Agreed 100%! If I'm going to purchase from LEGO directly, I want 2x VIP point at a minimum.
The ship for re-selling LEGO has long sailed. Too many people doing it now. The large sets are quite expensive, take up a lot of room, and can be a risky transaction if a large amount of money is involved.
