Speaking of other bad shows:
Stranger Things Season 5
Yes, I went through the whole show run.
Season 4 was an absolute slog but at least at that point, you want to see how this over-telling of plot & over-cast of characters will reach the final goal. Will some of them die to make the rest of the plot more manageable? Will girlbosses continue to girlboss? Will the males just be dumb counterparts who SOMETIMES have one good idea per episode?
And then Season 5 happened
And none of that happened...
And made it all so much worse...
I could write my thoughts but instead, I'll just say I didn't mind the ending (post climax) epilogue as it reminds me of
And as terrible as this final season was, I acknowledge that as a viewer, we were there with these people for the last 10 years this show existed. So I think they all earned that ending before the final dip to black.
That's my main pro for this show. Other pro is some of the casting is decent. SOME, like 3 out of 100 cast?
I won't list out all the cons but I'll just sum it up as this:
Little to none of the plot made sense. Everything we come to know about the otherworld and the monsters just gets rewritten as if they only had 1 season written, and the epilogue in Season 5. Everything in between was just a mix of ChatGPT, the diversity roulette wheel and plot holes the size of Mauna Loa.
This is what happens when you throw too much at it and with too many characters. And all the females are so damn fucking annoying. I really with Lucas' sisters was thrown into a combine harvester to save all our ears.
Just typical Netflix infused trash. Could have really had something magical but ruined by something I can't even pinpoint? Perhaps Nextflix brass, conflict in the writer / producer room. I don't know. All I can say is just watch if you want to see it through, otherwise, there's better ways to spend 11 hours of your time.
Oh and FFS, the crying. The crying in this season can turn the Atacama Desert into the fucking Choco Forest...
EDIT: I don't think many of these actors will find much work after this. Again, only like 3 of them were actually good and invested in their character's reason-to-be.
