asides from the obvious noise which you cant complain about when you moved there after the train was already operational, the main drawback is definitely a little more riffraff than elsewhere. you'd hear screams at night sometimes from druggies and arguing. i didnt notice any crime like breakins in my mailroom but im sure it happened around us, but that also happens just about anywhere that is busy not just because of the train.

I lived on Vanness (Brio building at 3638 Vanness) as well and faced the tracks at eye level (4th floor). At first it was fine but I was right across from the switches and as they worn down they got worse and worse with noise. I hear they do annual grindings of the tracks now to help reduce noise.
But like you said it was fine overall - a little bit more riffraff just by virtue of more people being around. Great neighbourhood for someone young-ish to live around - go party downtown and come home in 20 mins.
