Been a couple months since my last update...
- Transitioning to my home gym was a little bumpy as it took a while to get it fully set up and for me to get familiar with it and its quirks but the past couple weeks have been really good as I've set few personal bests (RDL, chest rows, bicep curls) now and am consistently getting in 4 workouts. Going to focus on my back squat for the next month - I've stalled out there for the last 3 months and it's falling behind my deadlifts.
- Niggling injuries with my left wrist, right knee, and left shoulder are mostly being managed with my physio. This is one of the spots where working with a trainer has really helped as I've been able to figure out alternative exercises to accommodate these niggling injuries pretty easily (like swapping in a bayesian bicep curl for a preacher curl) and keep working out.
- Weight has held steady around 170 (I want to lose another 15 this year) and I've just been pretty undisciplined with my diet this year. I just enjoy eating too much but I want to drop 10lbs by June or so as I need to get my suit altered by then in prep for an Aug wedding I'm going to.
- My kid quite likes playing with my gym, I got her a couple gymnastic rings and it's great to get her involved.
- Poor quality sleep is a killer for me right now. My kid still co-sleeps with us and the years of doing it have really caused my sleep to be super inconsistent. I wake up in the middle of the night all the time and then I can't fall back asleep for an hour or two. Taking magnesium and melatonin has helped at times.
