Nah that's a Boomer anachronism, back when they'd say "I know Bob from the Works Yard he's my cousin and he can vouch for me" and get hired on the spot.
Even the line "References available upon request" is redundant now, you might as well also put "Available to work Monday to Fridays" or "Proficient in Microsoft Office"
