That sounds pretty good to me!
I could never feel much from my AP1 either, after so many years of driving it on track. The best investments I made were a massive front sway bar and stuffing the fenders full of R-compound. Just to push away the limit, as an avoidance thing. For fear that I wouldn't be able to catch the next sudden step-out, and have the car spin me into the wall.
Having communication through the chassis, a wide band of controllability leading up to the limit, and a sustainable slip angle sounds like a lot of fun
