Prior to the trip I thought the Nara deer was whatever, but found myself with a 3 hour window and went from Osaka. It was one of my favorite things. They're funny, cute, and they like to headbutt and nip you for the rice crackers. We got fun photos. Also, how often can you pet a deer without getting absolutely rekt?
In a trip where we had a Vacation Package with full line skip on fast pass rides at both Disney Parks, rented sports cars from Omoren in Noda, drove to Motegi, Yokohama, Daikoku, and watched F1 in Suzuka, the Nara deer was one of my favorite activities.
