I caught up with the guy this morning and asked him how he got it here, he said to me that its similar to a Fiat and nobody had a problem with it?? Really overpowering Italian accent though...
It did have a BC inspection sticker in the window, and the european plate mount was still on the back with the BC plate crudely just screwed into it

The GTM was released a few years ago, I guess theyre just starting to sneak into Canada. IIRC, the kit was 20k USD, you supply the Corvette C5 donor car and Porsche transaxle. All said and done its roughly a 100-120k hole in your wallet. Cool alternative to anything off the showroom floor though.

I've also seen an asian kid in a white Techart Cayman, but on different rims, and he DOES need to practice driving. Saw him stall 8 consecutive times trying to get out of his parking spot on an incline. I do give him props for getting a manual whereas most if not all young asian kids drive their "sport cars" without.

The red plate constitutes a consulate from a different country. They are allowed to import their vehicle under the RIV program for a certain period of time, usually within their term or assignment in Canada.
