do they have futures contracts in this competition?

I could be interested if they had futures. what are the rules even? how much do we start with? and how long does it go for? it says "focuses on day trades".

how do they enforce this?

lets just dump 100% of the money into futures, close our eyes and let it run, lol we'll either make it out #1 or fail miserably. lol

edit:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...hl=en_US&pli=1

lol year long? 20grand maximum in futures (that's fine as long as we can stack our winnings and use it to buy more futures). sounds like fun. 20 bux for non members for 1 year? im currently testing a futures strategy too.

Thats what I was thinking but then I read the rules, you can only put a certain limit in futures/options to make it "fair" ...

It's real time, so none of that buying gainers via the 15 minute delay; Also, the limit/allocation on portfolio seems fair, you wouldn't be putting your entire bankroll on one thing. PM if interested, they had their first week already I believe.

totally is, but they must (hopefully) know that if they can't come to some kind of agreement, EVERYONE is f'd... its time to take a poison pill for many politicians... lets just hope they realize they can work it so everyone looks as bad as one another, that would work best!

Having a tough time reading the market for tomorrow. Perhaps it will go up the next few days with the expectation there will be a solid agreement on Wednesday.

things are looking good for tomorrow - Asia is up, futures are up - they're making good progress in Europe (it appears, i'm sure there'll be some bumps in the way)

wish i'd bought in the recent weeks, ah well, we're not out of hte woods yet, not by a long way

I'm torn if I should sell some positions tomorrow for small profit, or wait til Wednesday? I'm afraid they won't come to agreement by Wed and will tank again. I'm finally breaking even on some recent stocks.

i do love my CAT, but more importantly well run company whose incomes won't fluctuate with short term 'issues' (don't get me wrong europe isn't a minor issue by any means) - but i had no reason to leave shop.

best part is the upgrade on guidance for FY2011! Q3 was nice, but hte guidance makes me happiest

sadly no, i'll admit that i've made 1 mispick, which has cost me dearly.

Now, i've taken a huge paper loss on it, but know that long term i'll be fine, but sadly that has created a slight margin problem for me (its a real shame, but it was a purchase that turned bad, i learnt from it, i've moved on, will never make that kind of move again - i'll call it short term 'tuition' payments) - i am now not using margin anymore, hence hte inability to buy a bunch more... maybe it was totally terrible timing, but its a decision i'm sticking to

i've also recently purchased a bunch of real estate (not in Van), so all my money has gone to that, my stock portfolio only makes up about 25% of my total investment portfolio... terrible timing (from a stock market perspective), but you know what, i have NO doubt there will be other opportunities - europe will kick the can down the road, but china will slow down in the coming years, where will the growth & demand come from when that starts to happen? ppl will overreact, etc... i can see a lot of volitility in the coming years
