no chance - when that happened it wasn't just bc of low copper/coal prices, they were trounced in debt - they're in a much better position now.

i'm totally fine with average costing, i know i can't time shit, but i know a good valuation when i see one, and if i get it even cheaper - bargain. i have the income and capital to sit on all of my stock portfolio - because i'm a balla? no (i wish), just because i invest what i don't need

but one should not be flamed for buying right now, i'd like to think long term, those who are buying (to hold) for the long term should be congratulated for buying at this, and future times

I'm all cash now....the markets are still falling, but the US debt deal failure should have been priced in, a rebound is due, but I just don't know when to dip my toes in....thoughts?

No offense, but if you are 100% invested over a weekend in an instrument that is a derivative of a derivative you are no better than the people who were buying EU peripheral debts a year ago.

Sorry let me clarify: In referring to that TVIX trade, I was playing with the high-risk portion (10%) of my portfolio. I was sitting on 90% cash, though I sold my TVIX so now, as I just posted, I am sitting on 100% cash. USD specifically. I don't recommend anyone go "all in" on any leveraged ETF. Hope that clarifies things up, cheers.

?? i should feel bad because i've worked hard, educated myself, and now earn enough money that i'm able to invest money every month?

i'm sick of how you flame everyone for investing right now - just because its not your way doesn't mean its wrong. you and many others here trade, that's great, me and many others invest for the long term

we're all in different situations of our lives, are different ages, earn different amounts, come from different backgrounds - doesn't make anyone any less right or wrong.

i shouldn't (nor do i) feel sorry for having, and being able to have a longer term outlook
