[08-12, 00:25] Iceman-19 the owner was someone i knew. trusted him. that blew up in my face like i was a 19 year old jap girl at a bukkake party.
his past Saturday, the United Way of King County put on a fantastic event at Safeco Field. It was an all-star softball game to raise money for youth homelessness. There were all kinds of great names there: Jay Buhner, Dan Wilson, Joey Cora, John Olerud, Jermaine Kearse, and on and on. But it was these two standing aside by side that really captured my imagination. Kemp and Payton.
You can't look at those two men without flashing back to the mid-90's when they formed if not the BEST guard-forward combination of all-time...then certainly one of the 2 or 3 most thrilling.
Go onto youtube and watch \what Shawn Kemp could do at the height of his powers. NOBODY threw down dunks the way Shawn did. Ever.
Several times a game there would be that moment where Gary came down the court with the ball, head cocked, mouth open, eyes darting like a cat stalking prey. Then quick as anything he'd loft the ball up, and for an instant you'd swear he overdid it, threw it up too high. "Nobody can get to that," you'd think. But then young Kemp would launch himself skyward like some kind of spring-loaded super-hero... up, up, up he'd go, and right at the apex of the ball's arc he'd catch it in one of those massive paws, pull it back behind his head and then CRASH! He'd crush the ball downward into the basket violently, viciously like the bolt action on a rifle. And when he landed delicate as a dancer back on earth, his body would slink and slide into all kinds of awkward gyrations, not a celebration really, but a shy kind of dance. It was as if left-over adrenaline was slipping out of his body.
The two of them were breathtaking.
Someday Seattle will get another NBA team. Count on it. But I'm convinced I've already seen the best court combination we'll ever have.
Kemp and Payton. Payton and Kemp. Damn

The Glove and Reign Man lob city before CP3 and Blake Griffin.
Shawn Kemp
Ouch DeAndre signs with the Mavericks. This hurt the Clippers bad because they don't have the cap to sign anyone else, nor is there anyone even close to DJ's caliber left in the market. Amare? Perkins?... dayum...
Also Robin Lopez to the Knicks. Portland is scorched earth. I didn't think it was possible but they are having a worse off-season than the Canucks. They lost their entire core and got zero picks in return. PF - Aldridge gone.
SG - Matthews to Mavs.
SF - Batum to Hornets.
C - Lopez to Knicks.
Basically next season they only have Lillard and Chris Caveman left.
$80 million on 4 year deal for DeAndre...He's a rebounding beast and defender, but seems overpaid I think personally. That's quite a bit of dough for Cuban to unload on a non-franchise type player.

Spurs is set for another dynasty run.
All over again just like 99' for David Robinson last year.
New Twin Tower born
K. Leonard + LM. Aldridge + D. Green
Tony Parker still in good form. 33 years
I am SO PUMPED with the addition of LaMarcus Aldridge! It was pretty obvious that nobody wanted to face the "old" Spurs in the playoffs last season.
And the team that barely scratched by them just lost their best defensive anchor.
Next season's looking good!
Gonna be a great basketball season, and a very shitty hockey season lol

Reasonable compared to Parsons contract, not that Im saying they are worth that amount
Rajon Rondo signs a 1-year $10 million contract with the Kings.
Boogie must be choked, the Kings traded away their future to sign free agents this year but got rejected by Ellis (Pacers) and Wes Matthews (Mavs) and ended up with Rondo and Bellinelli.
Marco was the benefactor of playing in Poppovich's system and got paid. He won't get the same open looks in Sac-town and he definitely isn't the same type of creator as Monta.
Rondo is more of an enigma, was he just a by-product of the C's big 3? How could he fizzle out so quickly in Dallas? He was looking like a max contract guy and now he's barely Jose Calderon's level.
