cable clutch problem

I recently bought a 90 civic si and it just had the clutch and clutch cable replaced before I got it (fenco clutch and beck arnley cable). now the clutch pedal is stiff as hell, way stiffer than my aftermarket clutch in my other civic. grabs really hard too I find. tried squirting some wd40 in the line and played around with the adjustment, but doesn't make a difference. any other suggestions?

-release bearing might be tight on the input shaft
-could just be tight springs on the pressure plate

Did they just replace the clutch disc or the pressure plate and release bearing too?

Take a look at the clutch pedal bracket also. I've seen them crack and break from stiff clutch pedals.
