Is it me or when you see a Porsche drive by or even on the streets, you don't get that "Wow! A porsche" type of feeling that it is supposed to generate?
porsches aren't known to be exotics to begin with thats why

It's because Porsches aren't that rare. You couldn't buy a 458 right now even if you tried. If you somehow managed to find a wait list that wasn't a year in, you're going to be paying upward of $300k.
...while you can walk into a Porsche dealership with a bag of money and walk out with a 911.
That and Porsches are slightly douchey. I'm not saying all Porsches are driven by douches. I know some cool people here at RS that drive Porsches but just in general, when you imagine someone with a Porsche, they're middle aged dudes that get annoyed by your pronunciation of "Porsche", regardless of how close to correct it is.
I personally don't notice Porsches, really, unless it's a classic or a CGT. 911s aren't rare. I don't even particularly think they're that exotic, especially since given the same amount of money, you could get a more interesting car.
They are good cars but they don't make me take a second look at them. I'll be like, "Oh, a Porsche, that's cool" but that's it. Kind of like an M3 or an S5.
Now a ferrari or a lambo might make me do a double take.
Porsches are more for car enthusiasts who appreciate a car for what its engine is. They don't have that aggressive look like lambo's, r8's, aston marten, etc which make the car stand out amongst every day traffic.
I love the fact they get no attention. That whats makes them the most desirable sports car for me. If you roll in a Ferrari you get every jack off asking you how much, how fast etc. Plus you can not replace the sound of a flat 6!!!!
