Got a quote from a reputable body shop to paint and install an oem aero front lip on a bmw e92. I was told two hours for removal and re assembly of the bumper as well as install and paint it's around 500 before taxes plus mounting hardware. (I don't have the mounting screws etc)
Is this reasonable ? I'm also getting two minor icbc claims fixed there also.
It's alpine white and I also asked for the silver bumper grills on the bottom to be swapped out to black oem ones which I'm providing as well. As far as I know and looked up the aero lip can be installed without removal and the bottom grills need bumper removal but I could be mistaken. I was told to put the lip on it required bumper removal. The grills were talked about after
The other two claims do not involve the front bumper or anything

I don't think the the lip requires bumper removal.

Yes that is the lip but oem version. Her fitment of the replica version is horrible lol. I love how she places the painted lip directly on the pavement. Imagine the scratches.
I found these official instructions that show no bumper removal but I can see how putting the bumper and lip upside down while it dries would help the fitment be better.

Seems reasonable if it takes them that long to do the work. Remove bumper, replaced items you requested, paint lip, install lip, supply hardware and l the bumper....$500 seems reasonable for all of that IF the quality of work is spot on and it fits and looks perfect just like it would from factory.
I once saw a mercedes with no insurance decal on the back and I was like wait a minute whats going on. When I passed him I realized it was on the front and I burst out laughing.
an icbc accredited express valet shop will usually do things properly (as per insurance standards) so if the same job were to be done through insurance for whatever reason, the bumper would require removal to install it 100%. you can find better deals through mom and pop shops out there that will probably go as low as paint+install for about 300ish
to answer your question though, yeah that's a reasonable quote for an icbc shop
Yah I guess it is reasonable. 558 taxes in - Its not worth the headache going through another bodyshop that might not do as good work. Thanks for the responses. I'll let you guys know how it turns out!
