Tyee Imports has had an ugly one for months. (Maybe over a year?) Needs lots of work but just 76kms. Good for a track car or someone who has a lot of spare OEM parts.

DB8 ITR are generally more unicorn than any USDM ITR
I don't think 18K is redonkulous...something like 13-14K is probably fair for its mileage
That's where I'd be at as well. I dislike the '96 spec with the 5 lug swap. I'd much prefer the '98 spec and would probably pay the asking price if it was. I may pop by, have a look at it and make an offer. Velocity had a '98 DB8 in CW that sold last year but apparently it was rough.
Vogue Metallic Silver is a boss color and Jay from ITR Expo has a nice '96 spec. I'd love me some R81 action but no DB8 in that color. An EU LHD example is still on the bucket list though.
ninja edit: Just noticed that the DB8 ad is no longer there. Hmmm......
For sale is a 1996 Honda Integra Type R sedan (DB8R) that has been imported over from Japan and been fully refreshed. The chassis and motor/transmission are all original and have only 26,619KM on it. The motor has never been replaced or taken out of the car. The car itself has been given a few upgrades to enhance the overall look and performance compared to its stock variant. The car has passed all provincial inspections and has been fully registered to drive on the road. It is a complete turn key vehicle with nothing needed.
The modifications include:
- Full repaint in granada black pearl (NH-503P)
- USDM 5 lug conversion
- OEM 98 Spec rear bumper
- Authentic JDM 16's with OEM matching center caps (Fully refinished, not a single scratch on them). Paired with a set of brand new Michelin A/S tires 205/50/16.
- H&R sport springs
- Spoon Sports street axleback
- Authentic ARC intake
- Reconditioned foam bolsters on the Recaro SRD's
- Pioneer double din head unit

yeah i know. kinda frustrating. typical ad practice by sellers to make the posting look recent.

^^yeah, that's the one. Price got down to $9,800 at one point. Pretty sure it sold for less than that. It had rough paint, oxidized bolts throughout, trunk leaked, engine bay looked terrible, etc. Don't recall any mention of the mechanical integrity.
I'm curious if the ITR tax has hit the JDM versions now. There were a handful of '96 specs for sale locally here over the last few years and they all seemed to average in the $10K range. The U.S. market is so vastly different(and crazy expensive with the exchange) so it's hard to compare it to Canada considering that the import rules are different. There's a '98 spec with 154,000kms for $17,000USD on FB. That just seems ridiculous to me but the average U.S. enthusiast goes freaking bananas for RHD stuff to the point that they covert LHD Intregra's and Civic's.
I don't follow the JDM auctions or anything but for those that have, has the stock dwindled or has pricing gone up at all? Are local Japanese enthusiasts interested in these cars more now than before and are they staying local? I'm completely out of touch on the European market but curious on the current worldwide demand and if it has increased, therefore raising prices and depleting inventory.
i want to say it'll vary state-by-state
driving anything newer than 25 years old just seems like massive risk as I'm sure most of them are through loopholes/grey areas.
havent followed it for a few years but given that the hype for it locally appears to have died down but USDM stuff has shot up, I want to say its inventory if drying out is due to
1. UK folks buying them ( so I've read)
2. most are striped away for parts...remember photos of the Type R grave several pages back? (this is probably a bigger factor)

not sure if anyone is looking for one of these... hard to find from japan these days because wrecking yards are now required by law to pop all airbags and shipping is difficult because it's now considered to be an explosive
just make sure that the hub is dc2(r) and not ek(9) because the splines don't match. back in the day i had to have a custom hub machined out of steel and a dc2 splined neck welded together to make it work...
Genuine Integra Type R DC2 MOMO Steering wheel
