There's zero torque steer in stock form, so no need to worry about getting plowed by a Type R...hell I'd be more scared of regular Civics considering the demographic that buys them.
talking to honda this morning you can put your name down and still get one
Talked to Honda HQ ? or a regular Saleperson at Honda Dealership ?
First allocations to be dropped off for the week of 10th of July. Then September, then October... 1 unit per month per dealer Black or White only for MY2017
IMHO, Honda should come out and deal with all the craze before everything goes too far. They are not like Ferrari or Lambo who don't mid the "exotic" status. CTR is a car to bring that performance image back to Honda, not making it exotic.
They should man up and do like Dodge is doing with Demon, dealers could sell at over MSRP if they want, but they would get the last allocation while dealers selling at MSRP would get priority.
Anyone think the new ctr's are going to get stolen and stripped for their engines like the itr's did?
no
because immobilizer
and these parts will be so specific it's a dead giveaway they are stolen...in the old days you could probably try to say it's from Japan and no one would bat an eye
and with old B-series era parts it could fit on so many models, preludes, civics, accords, etc
i believe these parts will have a much narrow spectrum of models they'll be able fit on

i don't think they honestly give a shit
a type R is a halo product, like NSX
it's meant to sell more Civics, not build more limited runs of the track-oriented cars..i don't think it was meant to be accessible to the guy looking at the Honda HR-V then sees the CTR and wants to upgrade
at 33k, wouldn't surprise me if they're losing money again or breaking-even..the money they dumped into making it the FWD 'ring leader took quite a few years. I remember reading about it back in 2011-ish
they'll probably try to stick a detuned version of the K-engine into an Accord coupe or something...oh god maybe a 2-door Acura, please do that
