It depends on what you plan on using it for, and what your lifestyle is like. Everyone's body chemistry is different, not to mention if you have an addictive personality, etc etc.
Some people use them to study, some for the gym, some people swear by it, for others it does nothing. They're not miracle drugs or Limitless pills, at least, not the legal ones like Skinny said. I'd say the price and risk is not worth the very little (if any) effect it has. You're probably better off just eating well and exercising and taking some omega oils for long term brain health.
Having said that, I do have experience with a handful of different ones, and only a couple did I feel a noticeable difference. Even then -- the alertness and energy wasn't much different than having a cup of coffee every few hours.
