Costco Nanaimo is out of TP and hand sanitizer. They are wiping down the handles of every cart that comes in.
I was just at the Willingdon one and same story... the usual suspects were stocking up on "supplies" while the majority of people were just there for their normal shopping.
FYI, for at least the Kirkland brand, both TP and Paper towel is made and distributed in Canada, so that theory about Chinese supplies etc. is moot.
I wanted fucking paper towel and it was all gone as well
One thing i noticed, which is kind of odd, was that all of their organic chicken was gone. Like, completely out of stock, the cold shelves there they usually are located had been re-stocked with various other items etc. Which i've never seen before

On Monday afternoon when I was there, zero chicken, ground beef, turkey. Only the big cuts of beef, and pork loins available. And the loin was going as quick as it was being put out

Wife mentioned the same thing when we went grocery shopping on the weekend. She mentioned something about they discontinuing the organic chicken.
Will have to do some digging on this topic as we like the organic chicken.

China has shut down the city... I was saying to my wife last night that the major benefit of having a complete authoritarian dictatorship is that you have the power to do things like this, that benefit the people pragmatically.
Anyone stuck in there is almost certainly doomed, but the rest of the world will be much safer this way.

To make matters worse, after all the pandering to China, possibly helping to make this a bigger threat than it needed to be, China is talking about making their own version of the WHO.
