Computer Memory Questions
I'm a pretty big noob when it comes to technical information about memory, so I need some help with a few questions.
In the timings table, are those latency numbers specific to each frequency? So at 266, it's 4-4-4-12, at 333, it's 5-5-5-15, etc?
And lastly, I was thinking of getting this to upgrade from 2GB to 4GB - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...n&promoid=1065
Would there be a noticeable difference from DDR2-800 to DDR2-667? I keep reading that there is a difference, but it's not very noticeable unless you do benchmarks. But then, going from 6-6-6-18 to 4-4-4-12 will be noticeable, right?
Thanks

not an expert on timings but going to 4 gigs? you'll need a 64bit OS to see that much.

I'm assuming you're buying for a laptop, since you linked to laptop RAM:
For the type of tasks you're typically performing on a laptop, you won't notice a real-world difference.

RAM tweaks can give you a maximum gain of about 5%. You need gains of about 25% before you can feel a noticeable difference.

Ah okay. I was on other forums and the people there said to invest in a SSD instead as opposed to more expensive RAM for the same reasons stated above.
Cheers
