From weapon level 30-31, it took a long time for me. Well just the last few levels in general. I love mowing everyone down with the striker

you get 100 exp per kill on your gun and by lv 30 - 31 you should be close to getting your 10k exp challenge completed for it as well. Still takes a while tho :P
