36" Induction ranges
Anyone have any experience or recommendations on 36" induction ranges?
We're pretty sick and tired of our 2 year old gas Fisher & Paykel - over the first two years it's leaked gas twice and I don't like it's performance (burners can't go low enough, oven is too small and can't get hot enough) so we're looking at replacing it but the selection is pretty lean for 36" induction ranges (and they are $$$$).
Looking at a Bertazonni ( https://ca.bertazzoni.com) and they run between $9-15k for one. I might be able to stomach $10k (especially if I can sell our Fisher for $4-5k) but $15k is too rich for my blood.

Why not get a better gas range (suggest dual fuel with electric oven) like a Thermador/Viking/Wolf etc? About the same price range.
EDIT: Not sure if you're Asian or not but can't wok with induction.

Am Chinese but I never wok so it's not a big deal for me. Another consideration is indoor air quality for us and I'd rather not be burning gas indoors if I can avoid it. The performance of induction has seemingly improved a lot as well over the past few years and the benefits seem to outweigh the cons (like not being able to wok).

I’m in agreement with roastpuff, there isn’t a chance I’d spend that kind of money on an induction when you could get a dual fuel wolf for cheaper.
I get the air quality thing but frankly spending that much on induction seems crazy when the technology is pretty much the same across the board

DO NOT GET A BERTAZONNI INDUCTION RANGE
Literally the worst purchase I had in my kitchen reno.
The range electronic is not properly sealed, so everytime you over boil or spill water on the control, they would leak down and fry the circuit board which cost $1500+ to fix/replace.
Even when ignoring that design flaws, their induction range works horribly. Anything under 50% power it goes into this cycle mode (i.e. it goes on and off repeatedly to lower power) The sensor is horribly inaccurate and often randomly switch off.
The one I got is actually a hybrid one with both Gas & Induction (PM363I0X)
It was the only reason I got this despite it costing more than buying a 36" gas + another 36" induction from other common brands.
I think the only reason they are expensive is because of that Italian brand image....the tech and design inside feel like they are from the 1970s
After frying the circuit board the 2nd time I refused to pay another $1500 to fix it so I just end up putting those $60 asian portable hotpot induction range over it and use that instead, which actually works better and feel higher quality than the $4000 bertazonni
The gas side works fine and the design looks nice tho
