That's funny, but why release pictures of him in Cuba smoking cigars? What's spicy about that?

Cause US officials aren't supposed to vacation in Cuba? I mean it's not a big a dunk as catching Marco Rubio smoking Cohibas in Varadero but still not a great look for the FBI.
Is here anyone on the ground in East Asia? I'll be inKorea this spring, curious about fuel/living costs, etc. given so much of their oil (along with Japan) depends on that sweet sweet Hormuz hummus...
I'm currently in Seoul. The fuel shortage is set to randomly select cars that can't drive 1 day of the week to help ration. It's based on LP. I didn't do any research but I heard it around some local politicans.
The public transport system is very cheap, pretty much $1.40/a trip for anywhere you go. Uber is like $3-10 for most places. It's so cheap to Uber here that sometimes it's like 30 mins for bus, 48 min to walk, or 8min uber for $10.

The grocery store I go to is right next to a gas station, so I walk by it regularly and every time I go by the price is higher. It's almost $34/L now ($6 CAD) but there's always membership discounts so I don't know what the actual price is. But the point is the price keeps going up and up every day or so
What is so interesting about top Trump admin officials with questionable pasts?

You can rent an EV there it’s all good, dont forget your IDP. Japan, Korea and China are safe for fuel, they have refineries and they about to tap into the no longer forbidden russian oil.
It seems SE asia and Australia/New zealand are cooked though
Coles notes:
2015 :Obama gets the JCPOA deal to monitor Irans enrichment of Uranium . Most agree this is a good deal if not a great deal for the world.
2018: Trump unilaterally pulls out of the deal " terrible deal by Obama " etc
2025: Iran has now enriched Uranium up to 60 percent ( JCPOA was to keep it at like 5% )
2025: Yahoo goes in on Iran and US is convinced to bomb the enrichment facility. 90 plus percent chance they took out the facility but you cant bomb uranium back to less enrichment. Now that Uranium instead of being all in one place is scattered around Iran. This escalation is a worse situation then before because its hard to track it all down. This material can be used to make dirty bombs that can hit Jerusalem.
2026 : Trump backed himself into a corner because he has to be seen to get a better deal then in 2018 and hes scattered the material making it way harder to track down. They try to foment revolution since last year using increased sanctions which culminates in the protests that leave 40K dead. Trump doesn't have a off ramp and goes in again on Iran trying to get a regime change form the air only ( never been done and bound to fail).
Only way to really effect regime change is boots on ground. Ive read estimates to do that in Iran is 1-2 million US troops on ground. Good luck.
Leaves trump with no off ramps with which to save face.
Big shortage of propane in India. it's used in a lot of homes and restaurants to cook. One of my employees dad was in a line for hours. Some restaurants have had to close. In Punjab you get 600 units of electricity for free so Induction burners have become really popular. Price of them has like 4xed.
Remember when trump put tariffs on Canadian Aluminum?
Quote:
As of March 2026,
Iranian attacks have struck key aluminum smelters in the UAE and Bahrain, threatening 9% of global supply. Emirates Global Aluminium reported damage to its Al Taweelah site, while Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) also reported a strike. These actions amid regional conflict are causing market disruption, driving up aluminum prices, and raising risks for regional industrial infrastructure.

Such a clusterfuck.
The more mainstream / milder analysts that I listen to are generally suggesting that the easy button for all sides involved (Israel, US, and Iran) are to come to some tacit / back-channel understanding to declare their own victory, and everybody just walks away from this mess without incurring any further penalties.
US can claim they have eliminated Iran's nuclear threats -- they just have to say that. It doesn't even need to be true, and we all know it isn't true.
Israel can claim they have eliminated the imminent nuclear threat from Iran.
Iran can claim they have survived the brutal attacks from the evil US-Israel empire and foiled their attempts to overthrow their caliphate. In fact, there seems to be signs that Iran has now gained a new revenue stream to impose a (traffic / passage) toll on the oil tankers going through the Hormuz Strait.
FWIW, I am really regretting I didn't get myself into a Solterra...

he's always stuck but that doesn't mean he can just get the reporters to keep saying "we've won".
Let's see what he does with war. US has never ever won a war; vietnam / middle eastern wars

I wouldn't quite say that. I think it is fair to say that the Allies won WW2 largely bcos of US support, and the US nuclear bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki decidedly ended the final resistance of Imperial Japan (and thus WW2 itself) as well. And then there is the Iraq-Kuwait war, where US led the effort to pound Iraq and kicked them out of Kuwait.
That said, I seriously hope all 3 sides -- US / Israel / Iran -- would just do the ficticious "declare their own victory" thing, and get on with life. IMO continuing to fight doesn't benefit anyone at all. Iranian leaders are getting picked off one by one as the war goes on. Do they honestly prefer becoming a martyr than to stay alive? Trump and the GOP can kiss their midterms hopes goodbye if the war drags on (and oil prices remain high).
And Israel... I guess I don't know Israel well enough to see how continuing with the war can help them. Netanyahu's reputation is already in the shitter within Israel, so maybe he doesn't care whether or how it gets worse.

WWII is a different beast altogether... it was the last war that was actually declared by Congress and ended with unconditional surrender. That's why everything now is labelled post-war
Everything major "war" the US is involved since then was/is messy:
Korean War - ended with armistice, still technically going on
Vietnam War - hasty withdrawal, defeat of S. Vietnam by communist forces
Gulf War - Kuwait freed but Saddam still in power which brings us to Iraq War (Gulf War 2 a decade later)
Somalia - BLACKHAWK DOWN!
Afghan War - 20 years and back to square one
Netanyahu has around a 40% approval rating in Israel, which isn't great, but is still generously about the 27-28% mark of his competition... so he's not going anywhere.
We perceive him much more poorly because his approval rating in North America is 20%, so for Israeli based voters he's twice as popular as we would perceive him here.
