Today on the radio Ferraro went out of his way to say he is confident not only will Schneids be a great goalie in this league, he has the potential to be a STAR
he also said if the right deal could be worked out, he could even see a player like Jeff Carter coming in return
that would be nice

The twins are playing with a 30 goal scorer in Alex Burrows, they don't need anyone else. Kesler needs help though, especially with Raymond out and Higgins (hopefully) leaving through free agency.

Salo at an old man price (over 35 contracts count no matter what) will be okay. I'm guessing he takes much less. We're talking $1.5 or so as he would be a 6th D-man on this team going forward if Juice and Hoff re-sign.
However, there may be other teams interested. Even old, Salo is still very good and would make top-6 on other teams easily. Only his injury history is a problem.
