America Vs. Italy - the EBR 1190RX-Ducati 1199 rumble
I still have trouble believing that there is a superbike from the US capable of battling the 1199. I know there are countless perceptions and stereotypes attached to Ducati's flagship superbikes, but it's hard to fault their elegant (if not stunning) styling, their aggressive technological innovation and, historically, their torque... with that said, it seems laughable perhaps that any US bike could challenge Italy's finest... but Cycle World has a terrific article pitting the pride of Wisconsin against the 1199.
Beautiful late-afternoon desert sun made everything glow as if the light were coming from within all the objects in view. Even the weeds looked good.
But we are convinced the Erik Buell Racing 1190RX and Ducati 1199 Panigale do actually produce their own light—and not just from bulbs and LEDs.
A long day spent riding two world-class superbikes on the amazing 1.8-mile East Loop at Pahrump, Nevada’s Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, will have that effect on you.
Ducati is the accepted ruler of the V-twin superbike world and often has been the V-twin ruler of World Superbike, too. Not so much with the current “MotoGP” twin, but still, it’s got a great record.

For me, I can't get past the 2 cylinder engine, it just ruins the experience for me. I prefer a smooth 4-cylinder.
