test result came back it was just some weird fat so im glad to hear
now dog insurance would it be worth it, i mean $50 bux x 12 = $600 a year
x 5 years , 3000 already
hmm
now we can get back to the original question. WHich original insurance company covers the most with illness etc for a decent reasonable rate

I'm with Trupanion. They cover 90% of vet bills (no limit on pay-outs and no illness categories as many other insurance companies have) excluding exam fees and preventative health care like routine dental cleaning, grooming, nail trim, etc.
So far, I have been very happy with them, but I am paying around $80/month for my senior Chihuahua. Having said that, I am actually saving money thanks to this policy because she is quite problematic.
I started looking into pet insurance after she ingested some soft plastic and I ended up with close to a $3000 vet bill. That incident put into perspective how a simple procedure could cost thousands out of my pocket and I really wish I started insurance way earlier.

$40-50 bux sounds fairly reasonable
but when you get to $80-100 damn...
$1200 a year is pretty expensive
i guess owning a pet is definitely a luxury

Definitely. When I started my policy in early 2008, it was only 40 something dollars per month. Trupanion supposedly doesn't penalize and increase premiums if you claim a lot, but over the course of almost 3 years, they sent letters out to everyone (3x) stating that they would need to increase the premiums due to increasing vet costs.
At one point in time, I was considering canceling our policy because $80 *is* quite a bit to pay monthly, but if you have a problematic dog like I do, sometimes it might still be worth it. Depends on your dog. As I mentioned, I'm still saving lots of money with insurance...that speaks volumes about just how often my dog sees the vet, lol.

In the future I highly recommend Eagle Ridge Animal Hospital, though they do cost a bit more than average (probably cause they have a couple of exotic animal vets on staff) but they're worth it.
In general I think you're better off banking that $1000/year then giving it to the insurance company. You can put it aside and then if in your pet's life time you don't use it you'll have a nice little savings towards a down payment on a condo. :P
