Honestly so fucking pissed right now. I went to do my VI right away as my day insurance would expire and now I'll have to get it towed just because they gave me the fucking impression that my VI has been taken care of.

what bullshit a full vi just because the cop thinks there fog lights, and now it's a chance for the inspection facility to find more stuff wrong so he can make some $$$ for the shop. There should be some kind of arbitration other wise a cop can be a asshole and find say a bald tire something small and issue a vi for nothing.

They're actually fog lights but they're my DRL and he said it's not ALLOWED which is why he wrote the VI as he did. The problem is, Canadian MR2's use fog lights as DRL from the FACTORY. I'm pretty sure not only MR2s use fog lights as DRL.

You can still get a day permit on a box 2. Just be glad you weren't issued a box 1 where they seize your plates and tow it on the spot. You think New Years is bad? Happened on my birthday...

I dont think you can cancel VI's, there is no dispute process. Once you are issued one, its end of story. So ya if the cop was in a bad mood, game over.
Stupid ass reason for a VI though seriously. The flip side here is you have an email address, I would follow up. Ask for the issuing officers contact information. If his only issue is the fog lights then prove to him, they are your DRL.

E-mailed the officer who "signed off" on my VI (wasn't the same one that gave me the VI originally). Playing the waiting game now because I got an automated response saying she won't be in until Thursday lol.
