ya, the We$tcoast Express was the shit. Unstoppable during the regular season, but we managed to do so horribly during the playoffs. And then with the whole Nazzy's injury, and the Bertuzzi Moore incident, everything just went downhill....
I remember a few times afterwards, every once in a while, Nazzy would show his old self. He'd fly down the wing and then just do that crazy wrist shot he had. But I guess it wasn't enough...

In Vancouver, whoever wears the "C" will become the scapegoat even if the whole team is shitting the bed.
Luongo needs to lose the "C"
It would help if the scapegoat wasn't the goalie considering he already has enough pressure to deal with.

It could be worse, we could be Montreal. Imagine the pressure on Carey Price? The only way it can work out for him is if he takes the team into the playoffs and Halak totally shits the bed in St. Louis. If he does well but Halak does better he'll get shit on all year long.

I'm on the fence about Naslund's jersey retirement. If anything, Ohlund's jersey should be retired before Naslund's. Ohlund was a rock for 10 (?) seasons here. Hell, I would even retire McLean's jersey before Naslund, but it's impossible to retire No. 1.
We look at Luongo's struggles over the last two seasons and take it easy on him because of personal issues. What about McLean? Can you imagine seeing your teammate, who was banging your wife, every day? The fact that he was able to elevate his game during this was all the more remarkable.

Like someone already said, that $6M cap hit was only unjustified in Naslunds last 2 or 3 remaining years.
Luongo has a cap hit of $5.5M for the next 7 years once he goes past the age of 35. And no, please don't put him on the pedestal of M. Brodeur to justify that cost at that age.
