There are ALOT of people put deposit for a Macan EV 2 years ahead in 2021 thinking it will be as cheap as ICE Macan

Porsche is outta its fucking mind. It’s funny to think back in the early 90s they basically had one model. 911 that’s it.

Now they’ve gone absolutely insane with their lineup and have more model / variants than VW. Their pricing has also gone bat shit insane too. A base 911 is like 140k or 2500 bucks a month on a lease.

I was telling my wife just now and suprisingly knowlegble saying isn't the Macan GTS kinda like mid-low tier in the whole Porsche line up? She is like then what is the target demo for Turbo/GT series cars?

I am like... apparantly for Vancouver.... the tubro/GT series are for people who is "low income" and gets free swimming passes at our local community centres.

Should said the GT series cars should be for people like us lolol missed opportunity loll

For context, she fully understands that the GTS is like the enthuasist spec. that are designed for "drivers" who cant quite reach the GT series

But she has also been poisoned by the general Asian culture of
Macan - plebs who just want P badge
718 Cayman or Boxsters - People who cant afford 911
Cayenne - for her, moms with 2 kids
Panamera - for me, dads with 2 kids
911 - the only real Porsche in the whole line up

Taycan - why would you buy an EV from a brand that is famous for gasoline engines (she is thinking of the flat 6, I think she also consider the turbo 4 to be not a "real" porsche

My wife(then gf) used to be fine when I drove a gutted CRX. That's no longer the case. She doesn't think Porsches are worth the money but she will splurge on Chanels (scratched that itch already). For her BMW/Lexus are the sweet spot.

Just as you don't need to understand her need to splurge on Chanels, she doesn't need to understand your desire for a 911. If you want one, and picking one up wouldn't put you into a financially difficult situation, I say you should just go for it.

Of course you are still going to let her know before taking the plunge, but that is just a matter of mutual respect.

The real question is -- which flavour of 911 do you want? I used to like the 997 the best, but increasingly, they have slowly fallen out of favour.

She makes a really good point though, 3-4months of payments is a new Chanel for her. A year of payments is 3 new bags for her. I tell her the car takes us to places, the bag doesn't do anything like that. She counters with I have a M3 already.

Dem girls aint wrong. Those damn chanel bags actually increase in value (kinda like certain models of mens watches) and if you were able to get a hermes mini kelly 2, you would automatically be up 40k as thats how much they are selling for (msrp like 16k)

most of our cars are all dropping like stones. THATS WHY Im like DARK GO BUY THAT FUCKING GT3 already.

They're never going to sell the bag, so the increase doesn't matter. Have a coworker who's wife is into bags. A year has passed since she finally agreed to sell the bags to help pay down debt. A year later and my coworker says not 1 has been sold yet.
