Earls and Cactus rank top on gangster spots, mostly because of the servers and female patrons.
Notable mention also goes to Hy's, Kobe, Black & Blue (pretty much all of Alberni spots).

makes my experience when i was a kid at dim sum and a bunch of asian guys walked in to a table next to us flipping tables and tossing tea cups and chopsticks seem tame
never thought of moxies as a gangster destination, i always put it in the category as swiss chalet and white spot, a place for families and seniors

Speaking of that, I tried that for the first time not too long ago at Cactus. I mean, it's salty as fuck and I don't understand why everyone was raving about it?
The dish wasn't that tasty or even innovative at all. I could literally make it myself with enough butter and spices. Do people not eat out, like at all outside of burger/fries joints?
