The mechanical watch market is very much like crypto. It’s only valuable because collectively we deemed it so. Inherently it’s antiquated engineering that is easily surpassed by a 10 quartz watch.
But nobody likes hearing that my Mchappy meal hello kitty watch is more accurate than my speedmaster.

That's what I'm saying! LOL
Have to assume either replica, or from a rich family and being a barber is just chasing his dream. No judgment either way! I had to stop myself from saying "Wow is that a Royal Oak?"
The way the polished links contrast with the main bracelet links, that thing blings like crazy. Flashiest watch I've ever seen out in the wild.

Sporting this right now. This was bought by my grandfather for my father after I was born. My father gave it to me last year to which I will hand down to my son. I do also have a Rolex from the 50's that my grand father bought for himself when my dad was born but will post that next time I wear it.

I can't say I'm ever a fan of the 4-ish o'clock date window, but if it had to be done this is a very discreet an unobtrusive way to do it.

Yeah this date position always looks weird in photos, but IRL it works because you only really notice it when you want to look at the date. I much prefer it over a giant wart on the crystal! Or replacing one of the index numbers

This is a pics thread, let's see Heranus
Laco dropped a new quartz GMT watch about a week ago, it's pretty cool tactical looking. The moveable lugs look really cool, would love to get this if I was a collector

Automatic and 300m water resistance makes up for it a bit.
But you can get a decent mid-range auto Seiko diver (i.e. not Seiko 5) for the same price it's hard to justify.

I'm not as offended by it as reddit is, but I just couldn't justify that for a plastic watch.
Also not a huge fan of Blancpain trying to claim to be the first diver or whatever, when all they did was copy what Rolex had been doing.

Oh that's super nice. I had a 300T for a bit, but my wrist was too wimpy to do it justice, really.
