He had the car VI'd but didn't go to the shop that he was told to go to.
He pulled over and pulled out his phone to record the incident and was given the using electronic device.

That's so fucked up if everything is true.

So funny, one of the posters said he saw the car and it was stock.

It's barely modified, he doesn't even have custom rims... I do not know the owner, but visually: darkened headlight housings, CF hood and exhaust shouldn't be license for a pullover.

His exhaust can't be that loud, it blew a 93db with Cain's method of measurement (ie: holding it right at the opening).

We can only assume he's telling the truth about using his phone after he pulled over and in that case the ticket is not justified... but good luck to him in court, his word against a peace officer he's dead in the water.

Cain's typical thing where he gives 3-4 tickets for the same problem (ie: exhaust) and rips the inspection decal off a car that didn't pass where he wanted it to pass.. and even if it had passed at a Toyota dealership I'm sure he would have ripped it off anyway.

Guy's just a straight up dick, don't throw another car enthusiast under the bus giving this turd of a cop any benefit of your doubt.

I think there is a distinction between a muffler that increases the noise (a whistle) vs one that doesn't decrease the noise as much.

They are not judges. They are JP's. Huge difference. Judges have law degrees whereas JP's worked in the courthouses and worked their way up to JP's.
The latest update from that group is for ppl to appeal the descision and take the matter to a true judge to rule on the matter. That would set a precedence and if things go right, would shut that loop hole.

That being said, if the owner of the Lambo requested a copy of the transcript, it would have the comment by the JP about the prius and that would warrant the appeal and show bias which could apply to have the JP removed since they are not supposed to show bias.

Saw Cain a few days ago sitting in his F150, on the right lane of Marine Drive between Victoria & Kerr at 4pm (ie. when there's no parking) - he was sitting there with his lights on, but nobody pulled over or anything. He was talking on his cell phone.

Police business or not, why would you sit there and block a lane causing even more traffic during rush hour...

You never know. He may have just given some poor kid a box 2 for an air freshener on the rear view mirror and that kid drove off so all you saw was Cain posting on IG that he is keeping the roads safer by removing another tree airfreshener. He might be a blue squash kinda guy.

Dave @ DDE posted that they got a Box 2 and unnecessary noise ticket on their Carrera GT last night. Apparently joining the fight now.

Pro: Someone with money, influence and an audience has joined the fight

Con: DDE isn't exactly known for being a good, responsible representation of the car community. And their cars are usually modified in a way where it is entirely not compliant with the MVA.

Interesting to see how this plays out.

Yah I was laughing about this on the Facebook group, everyone is like "Fuck ya dey gonna get the cops for us!!"

But everything those guys do is skirting laws because they're rich... driving Alberta plated cars full-time here, the Porsche in question is straight-piped and fucking loud... apparently their R34 Skyline also got towed too.

I have zero doubt they came into town (travel restrictions be damned! DDE never wear any masks anyway) with the intention of getting pulled and creating a video.

These guys are NOT going to help the cause at all... if anything they're going to make it worse.

It still makes no sense to me that the same cops handing out VI's and tickets to stock Huracans happily provide a motorcade for the drive4change Performante which has an exhaust. How messed up is this.

And I was talking with someone on IG last night about this and he was telling me how some guy in a Porsche got pulled over for a VI and the Perf drove by, the Porsche owner asked the cop if he's going to pull the Perf over and he just laughed.
