Pitty wins this trade imo… Skinner is expiring contract, Jarry has 2 years left at 5+ and has been injury prone and not good and like you said he even cleared waivers last year. They get a draft pick and a decent dman and got rid of 5+M off their cap. Tidy piece of work.

The return was expected as Hughes wasn't going to sign an extension anywhere he was being traded. We are getting back good young talent. Don't get me wrong, you will never replace Hughes and it sucks it ended this way. Unfortunately he was looking checked out for awhile and the writing was on the wall that he wanted out.

Many predicted last night might be his last game as a Canucks @ Roger's Arena, they were right.
Good on him for leaving, it was obviously he had no intentions of staying.
We just traded away one of the best players we've ever had in his prime, had a coach literally walk away after 2 seasons, even with an offer from us on the table (unheard of).
We're a joke of a franchise and will be cursed until we're free from Aquaman's greasy mafia fingers.
